Yesterday for the first time managed to get 44.1mpg :D Was driving from essex , motorway was empty and with the stupid 50mph limit . Didn't expect that from 2.5 engine .

got 47mpg in my 3.0 si doing 50mpg when bring my new alloys home as the boot wasn't closed properly due to alloys being so large

On long motorway journeys mine consistently returns 35-40mpg and thats "with the flow" of traffic! I thinks as long as its under 3k its pretty frugal.

Impressive for the sort of car it is!

And 3k revs is almost 90mph :o

Mine is sh1t -I drive like a loon at every opportunity though :D

Sit at 65 in mine and can see 45mpg on long journeys. Not bad. Shame it shatters all that with the short journeys I do :(

Best I've had this weekend...

50 Mile Incline - 34mpg
50 Mile Decline - 40mpg

It doesn't seem any worse than my CTR, but I didn't buy this car for economy. It's my right foot that's the problem

2750 in 6th at 70 on the ///M....

Weird. Could've sworn mine is just at 3,000 in 6th not far off 90. I will check again tomorrow when I am out... Maybe my rev gauge is reading wrong... Or I am just talking sh1t - not intentional though :D

3k revs is like 70mph for me.... in 6th
3k rpm is def over 70 for me... 70mph sits about 2700rpm.

Mine's an auto - shouldn't make any difference though, should it ?

All that said, and back to the point of the thread... When Wee Bing and I went to Scotland last year I got about 31mpg over 450 miles, 95% motorway, and at an average speed of 77mph. Great engines

I see 33-35 out of my M on long journeys...

Tell me the secret! I can only get 30mpg on a run and 25 normally :(

The best I've ever managed was 31mpg, driving like Miss Daisy on the M1 at 70mph with cruise on. That was an OBC figure as well, not sure if it over or under estimates the fuel economy.
