40k miles in 33 months

Bought my 2010 35iS 33 months ago @ 20k miles. It's just done 60. All problems so far reported here:

New discs & pads @ 55k.
Next MoT this month. (Up-date. MoT just done. No advisories.)

Salient points? Global mpg 26.6. Used for everything, except commuting, which I don't do, and long-haul, which I don't often do.
Make sure to thrash it at least once once a week.
Service according to BMW schedule at AD (Sytner's).
Extended warranty (to 100k). Less than £500 a year.
Oil consumption 1 litre/10k miles.
18" Pirelli P Zeros wearing evenly and slowly. Reckon 25k per set.

Likes:
Almost everything, especially the power & the DCT. One of the best engine & gearbox combinations I've used.
Rattle-free. Comfortable (after a long time to find a decent seat position). Good boot space. (German luggage takes SWMBO & me away for a week easily.) And so on and so on. A very, very good car. Of the 25+ I've owned and the 50+ I've driven, in the top 3.
Dislikes:
Not much. The bonnet's a bit long sometimes and the satnav could be clearer. Nothing else, really.

I've never had an E89 so this is a bit off-topic, but my E86 is easily top of the chart of the 30+ cars I've owned.

The only one I've driven that was better was the MC I should have bought! :headbang:

Agree entirely. Just been trying to remember all the cars I’ve owned and it is something like 54. My top few would include my 3.5 is, 330d touring, Porsche Cayman, MG TD, Frog Eye Sprite and NSU 1200 TTSports.🤔

My top ones include a 911, an Australian Moke, a Citroen ID19, a VW GTI MkII, a Buick Riviera, a Citroen Dyane 6 and an Alfa Romeo GTV.

I've always bought cars on the basis that, whatever they're used for, they must be fun to drive.
 
Good going that Buster & id be surprised if there were many forum 35is doing more miles than that pa .
Across the used marketplace for performance sports cars they do offer a lot for relatively little buy & maintenance costs .
I struggle to fault any of the 3 E89s ive had barring one pretty major flaw :( visibility from drivers seat is pretty poor :( the drivers wing mirror especially obtrusive , only really became apparent when i went from the 35is to 997 the same day . Its not really a criticism but is a flaw that owners are getting around without even really knowing they are

...But seriously yes, tired of spending bonus's then losing loads of money on cars ( probably like others on here) so have the E89 as the keeper/weekend toy to spend money on when I get the car buying itch.

Ditto, had numerous cars, clearly more than posted in my signature, the only one I made any money on was the 964 RS and that car was exhilarating as a road and track car. Sunk heaps into “personalising” other road cars and running various race cars but no regrets. After “early” retirement having fun with the Z4 and trying not to scratch the itch of modification. A great car for the money.

Some friends had a bright green one of these and drove there and back to Turkey one Summer holiday. They loved it. When I rode in it I was frightened half to death when it went round corners! :roll:
 
I drove my Citroen Dyane Six full tilt the length of the M5 and only thing that overtook* was a pale green Ferrari 365 GTB, registration 365 GTB.

*Well, until those big hills near Bristol.
