400 miles in two years advice?

My new incoming coupe has been MOT’d every year, but only done 400 miles since the end of 2018 when it also had its last and scheduled service (oil).

Other than a fresh oil service, what else would you recommend looking at with a car thats been used little in the past 24 months?
 
Check the date stamp on the tyres! They might have loads of tread, but if they're more than 5 years old they won't have optimal grip any more.

Might as well go straight to inspection 2?

Ensure all filters are changed, I think cabin filters tend to be neglected.
Gearbox oil change may be another good one to get out of the way?
As well as coolant flush and brake fluid (I think inspection's only cover topping up).

Get the brakes checked including the handbrake. Not just the condition of the discs and pads but check they operate correctly and don't bind/stick on etc. It's all well and good making sure the car goes ok but if you can't stop it.... :cry:

Inspection 2 I want to try and wait for as I’ve spent a little too much of late :lol: Figured I’d focus on some of the basics first.
Appreciate all the input and have her going in at my local indy next week all things being well.
 
Speaking as someone who not long ago picked up a little used E86...

Clean out the screenwash tank - there will be loads of gunk in there most likely. Easy to remove then bung up the pump holes with a cloth and fill with sterilizer. Wander off for an hour or so and rinse it out, you should have a lovely clean tank :thumbsup:

Also, the CD player might’ve seized up. Give it a bit of use, ejecting CD and playing CDs, it’ll eventually come back to life...

Definitely!! When getting it going again though, make sure the window is shut. Those headlamp washers are brutal ha!!

At the very least in addition to the oil service, make sure the brake fluid is done (or has been done recently). As above, check brake system as a whole. Nothing else needs to be looked into/changed straight away.

I think it's all been covered, but if it is a manual model as you are having fresh brake fluid it might be a good time to get the CDV removed. :thumbsup:
 
After all of the great advice above ,I would suggest an Italian tune up to remove the cob webs :driving:
