4 yellow warning lights.

Was greeted with 4 yellow warning lights this morning as i left for work which was nice, ABS+DSC+Handbrake+TPMS. A search of the forum says wheel sensor, i don't have a OBD reader so don't know which sensor's shagged, can anyone recommend a reader plus which brand for the sensor ? Cheers

Well, i bought an ELM 327 Blutooth OBD and Torque Pro app but that isn't finding any fault codes ? do i try another app ? why don't these simply work.

Tried the free version of carly and no faults found, still 4 warning lights on the dash. think its the OBD reader.

Ordered a Creator C310+, forum search showed someone using this with the same problem i have, fingers crossed this helps show which sensor is broken.

Where abouts are you mate? I have INSTA and INPA on my laptop which would read the faults. Happy to plug in and check if you're in the bucks/Oxon/Berks areas?!

The handbrake light normally comes up in red when its a wheel speed sensor (abs sensor). I would expect a steering angle sensor problem more likely if it’s yellow but you never can be quite sure so you are right to get codes read.

Scanner is arriving today, love Amazon's Sunday deliveries :D why would the handbrake warning light come on for a steering angle sensor ?

Scanner arrived, missing usb cable, manual full of written codes and bent pins on the obd connector, which is chuffing marvellous ! then when printing out the returns form the black ink runs out :headbang:

I had this recently. DSC module was toast. Not the usual issue that could be rebuilt so had to replace.

Yours may not be this, only way to tell is read the errors. I had no errors with the torque app, but insta d show no communication with DSC module.

The electronic controller (bit that’s failed) black part of the abs/dsc unit is £1,100 from bmw.

I bought a complete used unit, but prices vary a lot depending on warranty etc....

Right, finally got some fault codes; from Carly OBD
1) code:002747 misfire detection CDKMD05 on cylinder 4 lamda probe ref vcat bank 2 and same on cylinder 3.
2)code:005e5c brake lining worn front/wheel speed sensor
3)code:005d93 speed sensor front left (passenger side ?)
4)code:000020 instrument cluster ignition on (kl. 15) but ignition (kl. r) off/airbag.

I Think you need something better to read the codes.

I used ISTA-D. My bluetooth reader and software pulled up nothing.

I had the amber handbrake light, and the yellow triangle symbol for DSC appear yesterday whilst driving and for no apparent reason. Anything in this DSC area is going to cost.......but fingers crossed, I removed the wiring loom that goes into the unit, blew some air through it, plugged it back in and the errors have all cleared. This is surely worth a shot first for anyone who encounters this, possibly, expensive error.

Tuco...yes front wheel left wheel sensor is defo the right place to start. The other errors look associated or random. Change sensor, reset the codes and see if any come back. I’ll also update my info as in the past, the abs sensors going duff always caused a red handbrake warning light.
