Thats why they are called $tealers! Johnny - you want to take your car to anywhere where they use HUNTER allignment equipment. To find a local place which does, use this link http://www.alignmycar.co.uk/. I live centalish london and a place here quoted be between 60-85 all inc depending if i needed front or front and rear doing.

not on an M... but it shouldnt make a difference... but my local place in Derby with a Hunter alignment did my car for £60

This reminded me, so just booked mine in at Skidmarkques who are Brentwood way in Essex. Not used them before my mate takes his porsche there and gave a good review. They use the hunter system.

Can't feel the car pulling either way but not long had it so worth getting the check I think. This is their price list for your info:
The check itself is free then depending on what you need...
Front toe adjustment £30.00
Front and rear toe adjustment £59.00
Camber adjustment £15.00
Castor adjustment £15.00

Any place should be able to align a BMW if they understand the two following nuances:

1. The standard BMW alignment specifications include ballast in the car; The alignment place needs to either have a compensated alignment value or use ballast on the driver & passenger seat and in the boot. If they don't understand ballasted vs non-ballasted values, they aren't qualified to align a BMW.

2. The steering angle sensor needs to be reset if the front toe is adjusted at the track rod ends. If this is done vary carefully and evenly side-to-side, the reset may not be necessary. If it is not reset the most likely outcome is an "error 5e40 - improbably wheel speed", causing the DSC, tyre pressure monitoring and ABS systems to be inoperative. The alignment place needs a relevant hardware or software package that can calibrate the steering angle sensor via the OBD port, if not a trip to the dealer or a BMW specialist will be necessary.

There is a lot of places that check for free. They only charge if adjustment is needed.

I've got to get my 3.0si checked out its pulling to the left  tyres and pressures are all fine

Si-forks is tapatalking

Garages with alignment equipment will be thanking the council for the state of the roads.

Drove past today & wondered just how they were servicing their overheads , now i know

Seriously though . Would you bother if the car drives well with no pull ,wobble or uneven tyre wear ? Just hunkers down the quicker it goes & even at something over 75mph there isn't a twitch through the S,wheel :driving:

We use it a lot for when we have had to mess with the Geometry when stripping and repairing suspension.

We have had 2 Range Rover sports in there within the last fortnight.....Faultless service..

Im gonna have the Z done,im interested to see if the camber can be corrected after lowering it.. I had a word with the 2 techs and there happy for me to be with them and see whats going on..

Every day is a learning day!

Sad but i have to admit i would happily sit down with a sandwich & a cappuccino to watch the spannermen work their magic
