Hi Guys
I started the car up today after a couple of days of not using it and just when setting off 4 yellow warning lights came on.(the red one was yellow but turned to red when i parked up)

i took it for a short test drive and it seemed to drive fine.

plugged in carly and pulled up this error code (amongst some confusing others) is this abs wheel speed sensor fault ive read about) was very wet could this be a result of water shorting the sensor. if a sensor are they easy to replace?

Thanks for looking/advice/experience.

The fact this has happened after leaving the car for a few days is immediately saying suspect battery to me, how old is your battery? :?

Not sure Smartbear at least 3 years old that's how long I've had it. The car always starts first time even after not using for a while. :!:

Your battery should have a date stamp on it somewhere, cars that suffer strange electrical faults due to a poorly battery still seem to start the engine ok, the electronics seem very susceptible to a less than ideal voltage.
It would have been more likely having left the car for a few days if the battery was the issue.

Check your battery, but if no other issues then yes front near side abs sensor. ECP do them for about £40.

Yip ............i recently changed out my original Battery from 2006, although i am low mileage at 42000 miles ...........surprisingly the original BMW batteries do last well.

Hi Sharpyboy
That picture looks terribly familiar. I had exactly those lights light up one day on my Z4 and panicked. I used INPA which returned a similar front left 'starting vs comparison code'. I bought a new ABS sensor on ebay for about £6 as it was the easiest/cheapest option to try first and it fixed it the moment I fitted it (and drove it a few hundred metres). Fitting itself is really easy, in fact the hardest part was jacking it up and removing the wheel (I think the back ones are much harder as the connector is much further along the cable). Good luck but I would happily advise changing the ABS wheel speed sensor as a first step.

P.s. I just checked and the error I got was indeed 5D93 (wheel speed sensor front left run-up detection). I would put money on this being the cause of your warning lights.
