4 day test begins...

Stratstone Chesterfield have let me have this M40i until Friday night, unlimited mileage so I’m off down to Poole tomorrow in it. Initial impressions are 50/50, it’s a country mile off a 718 in terms of sharpness, lightness but but I’ve only had it for a few hours so we'll see how it goes, I’m not used to it yet. Seats are more comfy than a Boxy and that’s important to me and it’s obviously a good cruiser. Certainly a looker in the flesh, no issues there at all, really like it.

We shall see.....

Seats are a lot better than any 718 John, I speak from experience :) . Tech is also a lot better.

Enjoy!

Some mileage in it might win you over. It comes alive on a long run with some different roads.
I find it stifled here, pootling around town but 1600 miles across Europe was wonderful and the car completely changed.

A 4 day test is impressive!

Enjoy the trip and I hope you like the car.

I can see the head line. M40I leads buyer away from the Dark side. :)

Sounds like the force is with you John. Enjoy Poole. :driving:

Have a great time!! Dealers are getting really quite generous these days for good customers!! Last time I took my Z in it needed a puncture repair and because they didn’t have the tyre in stock on a Saturday they lent me a nice 8 for the weekend completely FOC!! 3026F9E7-60C4-4CDD-8217-ADC3AC6CFB19.jpeg

Cheers chaps...

9 hours in the saddle today and I have to say I’m sooooooo glad I wasn’t in a Boxster...as good as they are I think that trip today would have half crippled me in one whereas the Zed was as comfy as it gets this side of a lazy big ‘ol luxury car. Very very impressed with it, roof down on the motorway was no problem buffeting and road noise, no back or shoulder ache, brilliant GT car. Haven’t the foggiest with all the tech..... no idea what’s going on there....in the end I just told yon lady dashboard voice what I wanted and mostly she seemed to get the garbled crap she was told...but rocked up in Poole harbour and jumped out like the young athletic sprite I am.......(Sars, do not start on me...just don’t Ok if you read this.... :P )
like I’d just driven to the shops.

I think if you take this car at face value and see it for what it is rather than what it isn’t and you’ll be a happy bunny. A fair bit cheaper than a 718 specced the same and a better distance car though not in the same league if you want a sports car. I’m sold on one...... :D

........I think.....

Thats a good run to see how a car feels, add on some local running around on some fun roads and then the drive back and you should have made your mind up by then..................or not...........
I'll have to get a test drive booked in one to see what they like even though I can't afford one lol

That's very lucky, something that would never happen here in Spain. You leave your car here at the main dealers and they will tell you to take the bus back home!
