3rd brake light

I gave the Coupe a wash this morning and noticed the lens on the high level brake light looked like it was protruding slightly - so I gave it a little pull and the whole lot came away! The LED's are still inside - is this something that has happened to anyone else? I am obviously going to have to get a replacement but was thinking of a clear lens for a change.... Has anyone done this and have any pics, preferably on an Interlagos Coupe. Is it any easy fix?

Clear wasn't made for coupe. Open the boot, should be easy to figure out.

Always wondered why they made it like this, why faff about with altering body panels for an additional brake light when its easier to mount an internal one against the window (like most others).

I replaced mine for a clear one on the e85,which after a while came apart as the lense split from the led part ,no cracks or breaks looked like the glue had failed at the join.
So some clear bathroom silicone carefully applied and back together good as new has yours split on the joint maybe it can be saved.
It will obviously need to be removed first to do this.

D4dawg - Did you polish the inner tips? My Sports came with the inner tips painted black, not polished like yours.
