Hi,
Had my roof motor relocated last week by dave in tow law
Later that day we parked in Durham and later Newcastle metro
When we got home I noticed my 3rd brake light lens not sitting correctly and cracked in 2 places!
It looks like some a--hole has tried to remove my lens or replaced it with their damaged one.
Does anyone know if I can get a replacement lens or do I have to buy a complete unit?
Cheers

From what I know the whole unit needs to be replaced ( £62 + Vat at the dealer ) ... I have just just unplugged mine !!

yeah I'm already on my 3rd one, the unit is complete, open the boot, remove the two black covers (with a Phillips) and then using a 10mil deep socket ( I think or it could be an 8mil) and extender remove the 3 nuts and tension springs, don't forget to remove the connector which can be stubborn.

Once removed make sure you clean around the hole that houses the light before refitting with a new complete unit

Make sure that when you refit it you are using the latest springs and washers:

B63.25.9.128.043 x 3
B63.25.7.151.981 x 3

I have read that these springs are softer than the originals, which are suspected as being the cause of so many broken third brake lights.

Nobody will have swapped or tried to steal it. They all break at the corners. Poor design, overtight springs and slamming the boot contribute tot the issue.

Depending on what you fancy and your paint colour, clear replacements are actually cheaper and look more modern/cleaner

Fitted clear replacement off evilbay £59 delivered!
Used a Phillips and a deep 8mm socket, 10mins job done.
Thanks again guy's
