3rd brake light is out

Ok, my 3rd brake light is out. I thought that it may be the light itself, but I replaced it and still no go. I looked at the fuse card and it gives me 4 options for which fuses to look at, but I haven't done that because all my other lights are working fine. So, does anybody know which fuse controls the light or is it one fuse for all the brake lights? I am thinking that maybe my mechanic would tell me that it is the wiring harness where it goes into the trunk lid and after time, it just plain breaks and you have these problems. Any ideas guys?
 
I think you may have worked out the problem - certainly that's where I'd start.

Perhaps take a lead from the battery to the light and see if it comes on. If it does then track the harness back to where it connects to the brake lights and substitute with a temporary lead. If that works - bingo.
 
YEA!! My 3rd Brake lite works just fine now!! :D :D
I took the rubber sleeve off the trunk lid to the body of the car and found 2 broken wires and 2 wires almost broke. I spliced the 2 wires and taped the other 2.
