3rd Brake Light Club

The reason they crack is springs too tight and then folks slamming the boot when it's under excess tension (so a tech told me) and it makes sense.
Mrs cj has to close the boot with only one finger pressing it down, whereas before the roof could be seen to shoot upwards and rear suspension depress as she drove the lid down like a rugby tackle....lol

Cutting coils off won't help, so either tighten them very lightly, or buy new sprongs for the sake of a few £'s on. £50 part that will otherwise break again.

I'm just going off the part numbers on realoem. What springs are needed?

Those are the correct stock springs but the SIB lists weaker ones - I don't know why the SIB doesn't change the stock ones, seems pretty odd.

The PNs have changed a few times from those listed, but a dealer should be able to track them down.

Need to replace mine. Tempted to get white/clear but not sure how it would go with black sapphire. Anyone have a picture ( or opinion) of clear with black please?

Do a quick search, been asked lots of times before and there are a fair few pics of clear on black. Looks much better on facelift. On pre-facelift it goes well with clear indicators but doesn't with orange imo.

I like the red, the light clusters on a facelift look predominantly red too anyway.

Red blends in nicely on black but clear/(white) it stands out a lot and I personally don't find it to be a feature that I want to stand out massively as whilst it's not unattractive it's also not a standout feature.

Joined the club this weekend and fitted clear 3rd brakelight. I like it, going for a different type of stealth look.. :D

jakblade I'm liking the rear of your Zed - cant beat a spoiler, and those clear brake lights work well with the Zed's paintwork

Cheers Marlon. just need to get the modded rear bumper squared away and quad pipes and I'll be really happy then..

hmmmm this is making me wait a rear spoiler, which options are there available apart from the Aero? (sorry to hi-jack the 3rd brake light thread)

So you're planning quads are you? Are you using the company Jingle used - they did a cracking job on his. It's a mod I'd love to do when funds allow.

This spoiler was on the car when I bought it, not sure if it's the 'Aero' but its the same as jakblade's - I love it :)
