Has anyone any experience of these or similar products in the UK, ftited, DIY, etc.

Having just resprayed the front end my thoughts turned to stone chips - well avoiding them.... :)

I've phoned a couple of installers and they quote in the region of £475 plus VAT for front end, part bonnet, door mirrors.

Seems a lot to pay for glorified cling film. I could get the front resprayed 2 or 3 times for less than that.

Yes but you have to live with the fuggly chips, until the next paint job.
Not so with the film. :thumbsup:
 
I have had 3M on the front of my last 3 cars and requested that my dealer put it on the front of my Z4 before I ever even saw the car.

Well worth it to me....
 
I had the 3M product on my 2003 until just last week. Needed to finally take it off as it was beginning to yellow. Protected the car well. Looks brand new. Regards, Zink

Correct if I'm wrong here, but as far as I can tell AutoGlym Lifeshine and the likes are just a glorified polish or polymer coating. I'm referring the the 3M products which are a thick clear plastic film cut to shape and applied to selected panels.

From the comments of the US guys those who have applied are plesaed. Anyone in the UK as I'm interested i local prices, suppliers, etc.?

No, at the bottom of the post he says he fitted Ventureshield to his ///M, the other stuff was on his TT. Send him a PM for prices etc sure it was about £300.
 
Well after a lot more shopping and searching and I'm down to £210 ($420) supply, fit and a 5 year warranty. Better than the initila £500 ($1000) figures and a 200 mile drive that I was being quoted. They'll be using 3M PUL2008 and been doing it for a few years.

Interestingly not done a Z4, before so I was worried and they are looking forward to it. Will template it all, cut and fit all at my home.

Will post how it goes (with some photos if they'll let me)

I'm messin' about with 2007-1 sat nav maps and trying to get combinations of TMC, postcode and speed camers working and there is a whole string of very eloquent threads on the subject by someon with the same avatar.

If you are I'd like to pick your brains - if not forgive me making the wrong association

cj10jeeper, unfortunately I wouldn't know one end of the satnav from another so it's not me, I just have good taste in avatar dogs :D

I'm pretty handy with this kinda thing.. if ur not getting much luck start a new thread and i'll help u out =)

burnt 2007-2 with cams in mine and will be relying on the TMC tomoro to get me 200m out of london and into a pub in time for the Eng - SA match at 8.. =)
