Hi folks. We went to fit my stainless manifold back exhaust system onto my 3l m54 today, and found previous owner has bodged, and cut off the manifold flanges, and welded the manifold directly to the oem pretty rough exhaust. I therefore have a couple questions, if someone can help out?
1. Does anyone know what the outside diameter of the manifold pipes are, at the end, where they would connect to the exhaust? Was going to order a couple of 6" reducer pieces that I can weld to my gravity exhaust, and slieve onto the manifold.
2. Mate's lexus is200 manifold was dead easy to change, with plenty of space, but the z4, looks like its a real pig to get out, so wondering is it a DIY proposition, or paying the local bmw mechanic £400+vat (with me supplying the new manifold), good value, if I go down the route of a new manifold?
3. Anyone know of any UK suppliers for a stainless de-cat 3l m54 manifold?
Tia, for any useful pointers.
