I would love a horizontal iPhone 5 one of these, although portrait looks good too.

I'm sure a horizontal one would be possible, although I'd have to find a Iphone 5 to measure up.

It would put it in front of the vent which may cause it to overheat, as I foundout with my 6 and a vent mount.

I'd thought about the vent but would likely just leave it turned off.

If you're local enough id pop over with my phone if you could make one (I'd pay of course)

EDIT: I've remembered this document that Apple kindly provide: https://developer.apple.com/resources/cases/Case-Design-Guidelines.pdf

Last time I mounted a 3D printed holder on my windscreen it started deforming due to the heat / sunlight. How is your print coping? I decided I need high temperature PLA - but didn't get it delivered yet...

That a great idea, well played my friend!

If you decide to make another for the iPhone 6 I will literally give you SOME money :P

But seriously if you do i'd be interested.

Im using ABS at the moment, I don't get along with PLA very well!

As for temp issues, I can't honestly comment, if it carries on raining this much I'd be more worried about its water resistance! haha.... no seriously, I don't know. I know ABS is more stable than PLA, but to what point it starts deforming, no idea. The holder is pretty much out of the sunlight direct from the window so this may help.

I'll get a heat gun on it and see whats what!

Thanks!

I'd happily accept SOME money! haha! I'll get a couple of kinks ironed out after my exams and start moving on getting a few printed out.

Yeah, headphone, charger and speaker are all exposed.

Wattsie I will happily pay for one of these. My crappy TKMaxx phone holder, "it'll do" style is awful. I've had the same overheating (ended up as someone else said turning the vent off) and it rattles like hell.

How long do you think until you could offer me one? Not to be pushy, but this is by far and away the best solution. I have an iPhone 6 too and would happily take it in it's current form (read your points about calibrating the printer).

ABS should indeed cope better with high environment temperatures. Would be great if you could share at which temperature it start to deform.

I'm in exam mode this week, but could start knocking a few out at the weekend.... actually waiting on a new roll of filament too!

Too slow on the jokes! That would be epic. Good luck over the next week or so and perhaps raise this thread again next week? No rush, but am serious about buying one.
