3D Effect number plates legal?

Are the 3d effect number plates (i.e. right size,spacing,font etc) still legal? I had these about 20 years ago. Made to look like raised letters, but actually smooth.

Thought i'd read they are illegal now. Is that correct?

2. Rules for number plates
Your number plates should:

be made from a reflective material
display black characters on a white background (front plate)
display black characters on a yellow background (rear plate)
not have a background pattern
Characters on a number plate can be 3D.

3d effect is still legal, I got new plates for my dd yesterday from halfrauds, they offered 3d effect.
