$3700 Repair -- WHAT...

I recently took my Z4 to the dealer for repairs
ABS light, BREAK light, Tire pressure light, Heavy Steering all had problems because of a displacement box (or atleast thats what the rep called it). Had to do with electronic something.. i dont even know what it's called.
The crew repaired it in less than 6 hours and threw up a figure of $3750.00
This can't be right.. IS THIS RIGHT or am I being ripped off?

Seems excessive to me, that will work out to be some sort of crazy hourly rate! Ask for a breakdown of costs. The bulk of that must be parts. Labour charge should range from £40-£100 per hours.

This side of the pond any work and the cost has to be agreed before starting, have a look at the bill and compare the prices from what you can find on line.

BMW shops rates on this side of the pond are around $90 to $120 per hours depending upon the area. Ask for a detailed invoice of parts replaced and tell them you want the defective parts that were replaced.

Hmm. What parts did they replace? You mentioned heavy steering. A common problem is 'sticky steering' and typically BMW will change the steering rack. This may explain the big bill, but worth checking
