35is

Almost my twin this, the dark side I sense in you..... :)

Lovely car and lovely wheels. Just for the record I have dispelled the myth that the 35is DCT revs max out 6500 rpm. I can honestly confirm that in sports + (tracking off) gets the engine to 7000 rpm just caressing the red zone if you floor thump the accelerator. Has any tried 'Launch control' or is this just the same as flooring it?

Cheers JC :D

Lovely cars but i've always felt the rear end is missing a spoiler or something. It just looks a bit ''meh'', whereas the front end with the msport stuff looks rather aggresive.

Agreed....

I would have like the boot lid to be flat instead of sloping where it drops top the bumper....This would have allowed a little "duck tail"on the boot lid and would have looked a lot better IMHO....

I used launch control when I ended up being stopped on the A1 at one of the single carriageway parts of road and someone was wanting to turn. Left us at a stand still for a few minutes and could see traffic coming up behind me. Yes just like flooring it but the front lifts and rear seems to hunker down a bit more just like when you see those hot rods at drag strips. Even my sister commented on the fact the car did that when I did it with her in the car.

It pretty rapid but I would suggest a flat, straight piece of Tarmac should be used when trying it.

As for this 'myth' of the engine max revs out at 6500rpm I've never noticed that but then I drive mostly in sport or sport plus and manual in and around town and onto the A1

Nice one Gaz. Thought it wouldn't be long before you made the move! Looks nice and I'm pretty sure it'll put as much of a smile on your face as the M Coupe. Enjoy!!

It's all your fault!!! Lol...

Congratulations! the 35is has always been my favourite E89. :D

Enjoy it :) and I rate the DCT very highly but I have always wished that it had been offered with a manual gearbox though... being the boring old fart I am but in fairness the Z4M`s manual gearbox is hardly the last word in enjoyment to use so I can see why BMW shifted over to the Twin Clutch side of things for sure.

Yes I agree. The front end is one of the finest looking of any car on the road. The rear is just nowhere near as resolved. Reminds me of some big American barge. Overall still a great looking car though.
Agree and I have said before that the E89 has the sexiest looking front end of any BMW for me 8) but they didn't quite nail the rear end though, I do really love the idea of the folding hard top though because I was never keen on the fabric roof on my zed.

its funny how pictures never seem to do justice to the shape of these. Sure, the rear is its weakest element but in the metal with a good set of wheels they really are very nice-especially with a good colour combo like this

Yea..

Hard to catch especially when your just snapping with an Iphone..

Im sure a fella like Tom Scott who has great equipment and an even better eye could do the E89 some justice..
