35is tuning

The 35i I tried with 'normal' sport suspension was too hard for me. My 35iS with adaptive is far better ! Much softer in comfort and firm enough in sport with a lovely burble on over run.

Re mapping - mine is loosening up nicely now at 6,500 but I know how much quicker the 11 plate 35iS I had was at 30,000 !! It would run rings around my 13 plate one purely due to mileage. The thing with the 11 plate was it kept breaking ... thus I am more than happy with the performance of the newer car. The difference at 30K was very, very noticeable higher up the rev range. It felt genuinely rapid as opposed to just 'quick'. Another 25bhp would be amusing but I am not risking my warranty for that.
 
My 35i had a Dinan tune done by the previous owner. It dyno'd at 366whp and 421ftlb (570NM) so I can believe those torque figures.

I personally wouldn't want any more power from it in it's current configuration. It's lovely.

Hello a new E89 owner .. welcome :)
 
i keep mine in sports+ all the time as it gives instant power and a snappy throttle response. i mostly do city driving so no need for more power when pootling around town

Sounds a lovely state of tune... Would like to do mine but its still under warranty.
 
Initially, the 35is does not need more power to make it a better or faster car. It needs a decent LSD and decent tyres first! Then, just maybe, it could handle the extra power.

+1. If you use all of the power, it wants to go sideways even on a dry straight road. Better tyres would improve this.
 
Still very happy with the ESS stage 2 map that we have on our 35i, been running this for over 3 years with no issues. We have also swapped the RFTs for Michelin PSS and had the Eibach pro kit professionally fitted and had some of the camber dialed out of the rears.

Where did you get the work done out of interest :)
 
ESS was a self install
Michelin PSS was Costco - Michelin special deal :D
Eibachs and alignment was AMD
