Put MHD stage 1+ on it and really let it loose :driving:

What would that give it...?

I wouldn't bother John , ive had a traditionally remapped 35i manual & a MHD stage 1 35is , they don't even compare .
Its good you can now experience & feel the difference between a twin turbo DCT V manual , I was DCT after manual & found it one of my biggest motoring disappointments since buying a Alfa Brera

Nope it’ll stay as is power wise Andy...nothing needs messing with apart from more cooling, I’d rather have it unstressed than on the boil and potentially unreliable. It’s the perfect car to have on the road when the M comes off it end of the month for a complete strip down and rebuild over winter.

....... :sos: :hairdryer:

I used to be indecisive but now....................well.................I'm not so sure

Well that came a bit out of the blue John!

Still it sounds like you've bought a great car, complete with the right gearbox so just enjoy. :driving:

I'm nor sure why you'd need a G29 as well, unless it's to be the first to own all 3 generations at the same time.

Picked this manual 35i up from Player 1 in Devon yesterday, bit of an impulse purchase tbh, 360bhp Evolve map, M4 brakes, front control arms, H&R anti roll bar, strut brace. The thing is a bit bonkers, I’ve been in Jollyjoiners 360 35i but didn’t drive it, I’m frankly a bit shocked just how much more pull this has compared to a stock 35is given its only 20bhp more, I don’t know the torque figure for this, I forgot to ask..... . It’s no E89 I’ve ever driven, so much more composed to stock, manual box is slick, its a belter of a car.

Popped a new steering wheel and black front grills on today as first mods. Plans are to throw some KWV3’s on, rear H&R anti roll bar, adjustable drop links, bigger volume intercooler, a pair of downpipes and an Eisenmann ‘Zorst’ as the yoof say.... . Should make it quite a weapon and a fun project car. Also maybe a respray in a dark grey like the pic. Either way can’t see me parting with this for quite some time.

We will be able to compare both back end of next week matey. It will be good to see the difference between my DCT and your Manual, even though I do love my DCT and I'm now knowing how to get the best out of it.
As for torque mine should be around 500nm and power on mine should be 365 to 370bhp.
My indy garage that did the mapping has now built his own Dyno room so might just get it booked it at some stage and get a base run done.
Might get it done when his does my gearbox service.

That's one mean looking E89 John. 8)

With all that torque it just needs a tow bar and it will be perfect for pulling the boat. :exitright:

Buy the 718 GTS 4.0 or at the very least test drive one before you commit to something you aren't sure about.

oh yes, my ideal spec e89

Would love to try a manual like yours

Once I have a garage space free I will have a look around for one.

The box isn’t quite as tight, nor does it have the rifle bolt mechanical feel of an M or Porsche Paul but it’s still very good. very easy to use, slick, clutch is light too. Plus it’s in the perfect place in comparison to the seat. The whole car is a hell of a good fun project car, Sam did a great job on this one so far but I’m going to take it further, really see what can be made of it...! :D :driving:

So £6k to me in 8 months time when I should be ready for it? 8)

I’d definitely have to sell the M Boyo and I’m not sure I can bring myself to do that, it’m doing a full concours winter rebuild on it with coil overs, AP brakes etc, the whole nine yards.

I’d love a 4.0 GTS and it makes more sense than a G29 because the depreciation on a boxy won’t be half what a Zed would be but you’ve still got to be able to afford the thing in the first place.....

Just cabin fever John as I am in quarantine after a visit to the forbidden motherland :D

Just keep your eye out for a used one over winter and that may take the sting out of it.

Worth waiting for the proper car, you've got a winner there.

There's certainly more power and torque left on the table with an Evolve tune so if you ever wanted another 40bhp~ you could try MHD out. You'd still be firmly in realms of safe power so no worries there.

Just something to keep in mind once you get accustomed to the performance :driving:

Glad you got back alright and are enjoying it so far, mate!

Intercooler and exhaust will definitely be worthwhile, in the folder of history stuff is a printout from Evolve with the dyno graph on it which will tell you the exact torque figure, somewhere around 500nm if I remember correctly?
Ought to change my signature.

What’s your view on the amount of, or lack of, depreciation on the 4.0 Boyo...?

Early days John. The three (Boxyx2 and Cayx1) slightly used GTS 4.0 on Porsche Approved are more or less at list price but that's not surprising due to the delays in build slots and deliveries caused by Covid meaning supply is not vast. Also, the talk of a possible 10% hike in new car prices post Brexit is probably bouying the second hand value. It could be that come the New Year, GTS used prices could start dropping.
