Standard oem ratios are 2.56, 2.81, 3.08 and 3.46. There are shorter ratios available from BMW Motorsport, but those cost around $3k+ for the Ring & Pinion
Thanks.

With the shorter gearing, for road use I think the ratios of the 8 speed ZF are better, gears 1-3 in the DCT are occupied by 1-4 in the ZF, I would prefer to be able to redline through as many gears as possible but keeping the speeds sensible.

What alternative final drives are available? Why don't you want a shorter one Stuart?

Hello .. question for M factory ... so can we fit a LSD to a 35is without upsetting the rev ratio, as there was mention of the dct having the wrong speed output

and if so what would you recommend ?

Yes, the DCT uses speed as a reference for shifting. We're waiting back on some customers who have gone for a shorter ratio.

In the meantime though, unless you have the ability to tweak your ecu tables, I would recommend the stock 2.56
