I would not bank on that, not unless BMW warranty includes items wearing out as opposed to just failing. I have a full 3 year warranty from Warranty Direct on my 35i for £1100. Had the same on my 23i, excellent product, paid out every time, including a cam cover (blocked breathers) and a full set of lifters, flywheel, GBox strip and inspect etc etc, even covers MOT fail items far better than main stealer product.step_change said:
I know this thread is a few months old now, and it's good to know the OP's problem is sorted. I've noticed a rough idle when cold, and strangely if I push the accelerator down slightly and hold it steady (while trans is in park), the revs will go up but then drop down again, instead of holding steady at the higher level. Also, and I don't know if this is normal with a DCT, but if I'm sat in the car in Park on a level surface with the engine running, it intermittently 'grabs' the car and pushes it slightly forward before releasing, almost like a rocking motion. A bit strange and I've never experienced it in any other car.

Yes it does, up to 100k miles. Other than the obvious brake pads, disks etc which are consumables. £50 per month with £100 excess. So £1800 per three years compared to £1100 for yours.mcbutler said:
Do WD allow you to take it to a main BMW dealer? I hear rumours that WD will only pay for the actual repair that fixes the issue. If you have an intermittent, hard to diagnose problem (not uncommon with today's cars), that could get expensive whilst they eliminate various things until they get to the faulty component that WD will pay for... ???
Yes they do, when I had one noisy lifter on my 23i they paid for the whole set. Prior to this they had already paid for a new camcover as engine breather was suspect as a cause of the noise.
No excess on the policy either.
You can add a few pounds to take it to BMW but I don’t trust them at all. They steal enough money from punters, you can imagine how they love to take advantage of warranty policies.
My local Indy is brilliant, quick book in, fast turn around all BMW techs one races BMW so great for performance and tuning tips.
