So my back end felt a little wobbly under load and it would squat too much on hard acceleration. I considered removing the adaptive shocks all round but instead chose to try Sachs instead of Monroe which were originally fitted from new.

My thinking was Monroe don’t seam to last and they cost a fortune. Sachs have been original on BMW for years so thought why not.

I ordered the rear shocks (£729 delivered) as they were original from 2016 and 51k miles. Well past it. They came and fitted today with no issues. Night and day. The car now feels balanced and no more loose rear end.

I did order the fronts but AUTODOC have just cancelled as they are out of stock. No rush for the fronts as they were changed in 2022 onwards and probably no more than 20k miles. I will change them in the near future when they are back in stock.

The Sachs are made in Germany. So all in all an alternative to BMW replacement or replacement for none adaptive.
