35i or 35is?

Flooring in a manual in 4th at 2000 rpm will just make a strange noise. The dct is just making you look a better driver in this example ;)

I had manuals for about 50 years. However the traffic situation where I drive has ruined that for me now so I am very glad that there is a very good alternative with the DCT. I also can tell myself that the DCT is smarter and quicker than me even after about 2 million heel and toe double clutch shifts and years of practice. Thirdly , being long legged I am not sure I could really drive a manual z4 very well because of the legroom.
As far as the IS I would love one for that price difference. If mileage is similar
Are these new or used? If used I would get the one with the lowest mileage and longest warranty expiration date

As far as undesired shifts I think those would be eliminated by using the sport+ setting, and using the paddles or with the shift lever in sport

Thanks for the input guys and taking everything you guys are saying into account.

The only downside with the DCT is the lack of ability to hold it in a gear when driving around a corner and flooring the "loud pedal" as it has the tendency to change down, where as the manual you can get into gear and floor it and the car will pull without changing down - different style of driving I guess.

I know you can down change the DCT and get into gear prior to the corner etc but depending on the speed/revs the gearbox can if the revs are not too high change down if you push that pedal down to far - this is all controllable I guess once you get used to the gearbox and car. I have tried this on the DCT in every mode so know it happens and I guess I need to work out if I can live with it :?

Hello

Like when we spoke Saturday afternoon .. go for the 35is with the DCT, you will not regret it

regards

He regrets wasting his time talking to a total loser like you I imagine

And spending time and money dealing with a total time waster

Your reply to this thread shows how dim you are Nick...... You clearly think your behaviour is ok

It's not

You have issues

No worries, thought I was missing something but yes it's easy to transpose letters especially when predictive text kicks in lol.
Doesn't help there is also Dynamic Traction Control (aka DTC) which has an off-mode.

So to the kickdown or not issue. I will wager a £5 that if you follow what I have said earlier i.e. set off and put the lever in manual mode in comfort or sport or sport plus by pushing the lever to the left. Change up a gear or 2 via the lever but keeping the revs low, then put both hands on the wheel not touching the paddles and put your foot to the floor as if trying to get the car to downshift the same as you would to use the kickdown as if in auto mode, and she will kick down.
Tried it 4 times, comfort, sport, sport+ & DTC off, 7th gear at around 1250-1300rpm, all the way through kick down absolutely no response until I tapped the left paddle & then it changed. At 0.5C a rather nice way to prove the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 rears, especially with DTC off.

Behaviour like this is gearbox software so it would be fairly trivial for BMW to put this in or remove it as they feel fit.

Any need for that?

Perhaps not the only one with "issues" ?

exactly what I was thinking a new member with low posts .. just jumping on the band wagon. Again providing no input or content to this forum ... In his view I am dim ..

But then again a 15w pigmy bulb is very bright when compared to a night light :D
