35i on Bridgestone run flats anyone got one?

Hi guys

I will hopefully be picking up a 35i on Saturday and I know it has the dreaded Bridgestone Potenzas on it so has anyone got one with these run flats on and if so how does it drive and handle?

I removed them from my 3.0si roadster as the handling was skittish so what are they like on the 35i, I am dreading the answer as I know it will end up with me having to fork out for 4 new tyres

I am hoping someone says the car runs and handles great on them

Thanks Stark I really don't want the expense straight away but I also don't want it to feel skittish as my E85 did on those tyres

Yes got the them on my 35is tried to get them removed when I spec the car without success. Got to say they are better than the ones on my old e86, but still plan to change them when they wear down. Done 4k on them so far. I have the adaptive suspension so think that helps,use comfort more than I thought probably down to those rft's ! 19's by the way priced Michelin pilot super sports up £680 for the 4 so will get them shortly.

Are the Michelin PSS one of the best tyres to put on the car as from reviews they seem to be and where are you getting them at that price as I could be tempted, kwik fit say they will be on special offer next month!

We still have Potenzas on our 23i and to be honest they are a better ride than my Mini on 17" non-runflats.
We will be changing them in a few months though to non-runflats to see the difference, possibly PS3's as there arnt PSS's in 18" our size.

Not tried them without yet so cant give a balanced opinion other than its better than the Mini. 19" could be completely different also.

I like the Michelin pss, it's just my opinion. fitted contis & pss to my old 335 & e86, great tyres & wore well. Priced the tyres up from http://www.camskill.co.uk/m55b0s0p0/Car_Tyres_-_MPV_Tyres_-_People_Carrier_Tyres_-_19_inch but have a local dealer matching them & fitting them for me.

Covered 22000 on 19" 326M wheels with Bridgestones in my 23i till April 14 with no issues and no cracks. Rears had a couple of thousand miles left in them when I changed to my 35is with the same wheels. Covered 7000 miles on these so far and again no issues. Wear slightly increased on 35is rears but still around 5.5mm after 7000 miles. Ride is firm but grip and handling good from my point of view, particularly when weather warmer. Fronts wear very little and can easily stand 50000 miles +.

I don't hammer the car but enjoy some spirited driving on occasions and the acceleration and noise of the 35is means it's hard to resist putting some load on the tyres from time to time. The Bridgestones have done a great job as far as I'm concerned.

I also understand that due to development and compound changes, the Bridgestones are now significantly better than when they were first introduced. I'd definitely give them a go and wait to try them over summer before you change.

Got rid of ours once rears got low changed to continental contacts 2 all round much better
