35i mpg

Hi,

I’ve been looking for a 6 pot Z4 09-12 pref 3.0 m sport with manual box in white. However with little 3.0 on the market to broaden my search I’ve been considering 35i manual. Can anybody tell me what mpg they achieve under what conditions?

Each week I commute back and to from work twice a week 10 mile journey some in slow moving traffic, then also some town driving. Would you say 24-25mpg is about right?

For a spirited weekend drive on a roads slightly higher? 27mpg?

The 3.0 n/a would as I understand 27 and 30 retrospectively?
Thanks

Thanks

My 35iS long term average is 27.9, so I'd say you're guess is about right. Around town 20-25, motorway can be 30-35.

How many miles you got on yours now? One I’m looking at is a 2015 with 50k on.

The one at Moss Hall ? Nice looking car if so 8) from my own experience a 35i manual will sit around 22/25 average , drop below 20 spirited & peak around 34 after a long steady Mway run at 74mph

Yes that’s the one, mileage a bit higher than I’d like but looking for white in m sport spec with a manual and there’s not many out there.

These two days are going to stuff your long-term mpg, aren't they? Can't you borrow your wife's Fiesta?

Recently dropped it to £17250 , looks good value , real world numbers i doubt you would find the 3.0 na E89 varied much , possibly a few mpg better but very little to go wrong whereas the twin turbos can soon drop a few biggies on you  worth being aware of as clearly running costs are in the back of your mind , HPFP , water pump or injector problem will all relieve you of circa £1k a time , by no means certain fails but over 50k & 5yrs old worth consideration

2014 35i manual, 14k miles. Comes out for holidays and fun so mostly long journeys and get 30 - 33mpg. Start hoofing it and giving the turbos a bit of a workout in Sport+ this drops to 26 ish.

Can't comment too much about town driving but I'd have thought with not too much effort you should see 25+. Depends on stop / start traffic. You'll find it hard to restrain yourself though. These are seriously good cars. :driving:

Thanks that’s good advise, I’ve had lots of straight 6 NA cars in the past M50/M52/M54 engines always found them strong. No experience with the newer tiwn turbo units, are those kind of faults common?

Haha well she’s going to be having my Leon FR 184 so hopefully those journeys will be done in that.

If it’s any use to you, my old E86 3.0si coupe with same usage averaged 32.3mpg. So a drop to 27.9 with those 2 turbos and lol torque. Worth it.

If you’re so worried about fuel consumption then you are looking at the wrong car!
