Interesting... SE interior with M sport bumpers, an upgrade by the previous owner perhaps...
M Sport seats too, is it not?
Maybe it is an M Sport but the wheel and gear knob has been swapped.

Sport seats were part of the pure white design interior. It's either someone put m sport bumpers on or put an SE steering wheel on. Not sure why you'd do the latter.

I actually prefer the Se wheel :? I also prefer the Se rear bumper :) front bumper ? Msport looks OK dependent on colour imo
Light colours yea , dark colours ? Hard to see the definition so wouldn't pay over for it

Spot on guys !! It is an SE but the previous owner put on a sport bumper on it ... I agree with Mr Wilks though, very hard to see the defition with the dark colour, even in real.
I will definitly get the wheels changed very soon and as Mr Wilks is the E89 prices expert imo I wonder if he can tell us where he got his wheels from and how much shouldn I be looking for ?

I'm a big fan of the style 296 but if you feel the need to change then against the DSB paint I would be looking for some silver to contrast
First 2 are safe bets for a OEM look , the 3rd choice ive seen on a dark coloured E89 & they looked terrific

I do like the look of the 296 but I heard too many horror stories of them cracking, One wheel has already cracked and caused and MOT failure back in 2013 so want to get rid of them ASAP.

Very nice looking car, bet you had a great big grin when driving back. If you like the 296 why not go for non run flats, supposed to help against the cracking issue.

Any way sounds like you are going to have many more happy mikes to come :D

For sure a good move to get those off  I would also look to up the profiles slightly to 35 on the rears & 40 on the fronts , helps with comfort & reduces arch gap

Beautiful car - congrats on the new ride  . Just wondering though, isn't it a twin screw single turbo, not a twin turbo?
Very jealous, regardless

Wouldn't this be it in a 35i? (from BMW website):-

"The BMW TwinPower Turbo engine in the BMW Z4 sDrive35i features two turbochargers, double-Vanos and................."

I like the idea of increasing the profiles to reduce the arch gap on my SE Andy, this is something I'd consider when my tyres need replacing. Could I do this in two stages - maybe fronts first? If this is sensible what profiles would you recommend?

I would go with the M spec tyre sizes, some on here have and have noticed a difference to ride quality as well as arch gap. So thats 225x45 on the front instead of 40 and 255x40 0n the rear instead of 35. It makes about 3% speedo difference, however as our zeds under read to start with it actually makes the needle more accurate! Only issue is the M tyre sizes are quite a bit more expensive than the standard zed one. Are you running non runflats Marlon?

Yes on standard Vreds MACK, which I'm very happy with.

Just a case of waiting till they wear out then, in terms of replacement I don't see an issue changing say the fronts first then the rears. I'm just waiting for mine to run down, but at 2.5k a year it might be a while! I suppose its a good excuse to use it as a daily for while.

The 20i & 28i are both 4 pot engines with single turbos , the 35i & Is are 3.0 engines with twin turbos . the 23i & 30i are both straight 6 normally aspirated so have no turbos :(
It is all very confusing & only BMW knows why they decided to play silly buggers with the engine model references  although they were already at it with the 335s & 535s I guess

As Mack points out its a simple move up to M profiles & something ive done a few times with only positive results
The rears on MV2s being 8.5j against a 224 being 9j I would look to go with 245 40 18 which works a treat Colin
I see the Vreds are heading up pricewise & for good reason , id say as close to a Michelin for 25/30% less :?
A set of Uniroyal RS3s on 45 & 40 profile comes in around £100/£120 less & I doubt you would be disappointed with them

So have I got this right Andy: 245 40 18 rear & 245 45 18 front? And these sizes will go straight on to my MV2's? Also is there any harm doing the rears ahead of the fronts as they will be the first to need new rubber?

No mate , Mv2s front go 225 45 18 ( or 215 45 18 if lowered or offset is on the limit for catching arch liner )
Rears 245 40 18 would be perfect on MV2 8.5j rim , you can go 255 40 18 if preferred but I wouldn't
