35i Exhaust tips

Has anyone replaced the exhaust tips on the 35i? Mine are looking a bit tired and pitted.

It seems the 35i tips are welded on, so not as simple to replace as other models in the range.
There are quite a few universal tips available that at first glance would fit, both weld on and clamp on.

Unfortunately it also looks like the left and right exhaust tips are different diameters where they exit the backbox, so a simple 60 to 80mm would work on the left tip, but not the right.

I've done some measurements...

Left exhaust is 60mm and flares to 80mm at the tip.
Right exhaust is 70mm and flares to 80mm.

There are loads of stainless 63mm to 102mm tips available pretty cheap. the left exhaust should be easy, but the right exhaust will be a little more tricky.
I've got welding equipment and I'm pretty competent at fabrication so it shouldn't be too much trouble.

Now I just need to choose a style. Do I go slash cut (OEM look) or straight cut. Polished stainless, burnt blue, or dark chrome.

Not a fan of the burnt look , I just don't get that at all
I wanted rid of the oe ones as I thought they lacked enough visual presence for the flagship twin turbo models :(

I was of the same opinion. When I started looking I definitely wanted polished stainless. Now I think I prefer the blue tips.. hmm not sure.

it NEEDS to follow the lines/curves of the rear bumper = Slash cut. Straigt cut just looks weird imo

 I agree.
I don't think straight cut looks bad, but as the rear bumper is quite curved the slash cut flows nicely.

I may have been tempted to go for a full custom exhaust, but I recently fitted stainless decat down pipes and the sound/volume is about right. I definitely wouldn't want it any louder.

I tried 100mm in the cut outs & they looked "big" as in a 90s Nissan skyline big :D
Depends what look you are wanting I guess . I went 90mm

They arrived yesterday! Extremely fast delivery.

I think I made the right choice - Burnt slash cut 102mm. They're pretty big but perfectly fill the factory exhaust cut out in the bumper.

I've just finished fitting them. Took me about 1.5 hours, I didn't have to remove the exhaust fortunately.
