I’m only asking out of interest Punter, you say it’s got comfort access yet there’s the key slot left of the steering wheel...does that mean the slot is still there but unused..?

Anyhoo, nice car, best of luck.

I have comfort access, the slot is still there and I still use the slot to charge the key battery on long runs otherwise I don't bother on short trips, just hop in and go. Great feature

Cheers Frankie, every days a school day. Useful feature to charge the key battery indeed.

The keys for cars with comfort access aren’t rechargeable - they have batteries that need changing periodically.

Thats strange, my dash occasionally shows up key battery warning, plug it into the slot for a long drive and the warning disappears for a month or so . ummmm

It uses a commonly found lithium CR2032 button cell.

Hi Mr Punter,

During my ongoing search for a 30i, I broached the possibilities with the good folk of this forum of possibly of dabbling with a 35i instead. I quickly learned of various common mechanicals that can fail with the 35i throwing up significant bills.

Your car is a fine looking beast, which again makes me consider the 35i, particularly with stocks of 30i’s being pretty low at present.

With that in mind and the advice of the great and good of the forum still ringing in my ears I feel I need to ask if you’ve had to replace any of those often listed “common issues” on your chariot e.g. Injectors, High Pressure Fuel Pump,Valve Cover,Turbo Waste-gates, Adaptive Suspension Leaks?

Original account now working again, thanks srhutch.
No, I haven't had any of those issues. Full BMW service history since new, large folder of every piece of related paperwork. 6 months of BMW extended warranty left on the car.
