Hi All,

Been lurking on the forum for a while now and think I have finally found the car I am after, a Manual 35i with Nav and a few other extra's

Just wondering if there is anything I should be looking out for when going for a test drive...I know of cracked wheels but is there anything else specific to the 35i that I need to look out for ? Waste gate rattle ? issues with turbo etc I cant seem to find a buyers guide on the forum, if there is one please can you point me in the right direction...

Car has 17k on the clock and seems in very good shape...not a fan of the champagne colour at all so that will be the first thing I look to change.

Seems like a 35i with Nav and a manual gear box is pretty hard to come by!

Thanks

Bhav

You've nailed some of them. Cracked Wheels. Turbo rattles. Ensure you floor it to the rev limit under load, as this will find any issues with HPFP or injectors/coil packs. Look for water in the rear lights. Check the roof operates smoothly and quietly. Check for rattle on rear of exhaust (drivers side) where a flap can wear and rattle. Other than that check the usual car stuff I guess.

Does this also apply to the sdrive30, apart from the turbo rattle of course? Sold the old zed last week, going to hopefully get the new one tomorrow.

No, 30i doesn't have turbos or hpfp or second exhaust etc

HVA is something to look at on 30i as well as wheel cracks and rear lights with water in them.

Lights have a known fault where water gets in (rears). Makes them fail.

HVA is valve lifters. They can be noisy. Go to YouTube and enter BMW HVA noise.
