35i/35is - Anyone selling?

That looks a very nice car there, a first gen E89, good colours for you and for selling on, very good spec, on top of standard it has nav, very useful and desirable, comfort pack, nav, cruise, extended storage, folding mirrors, wind deflector. Very low miles for the year, alloys likely refurbed due to age BUT check they haven't been cracked and re-welded as the early 296's are crack prone. 3.0 engine very strong and plenty of grunt despite being N/A, seems a fair asking price to me, maybe get it down to £13.5k, what's not to like? Go for it, it's a lot of car for the money.

Cheers for the input there John.

I thought it looked good so we may take a peek and see what money I can get him down to. The 'boss' would love me to only spend this amount.

Ref: The wheels, is it easy to check for welds?

I think you'll do well to find another with the colours, spec and miles, wants snapping up IMO.

The alloys would probably have a proud weld mark on the inside edge from the tyre rim back as that is where they tend to go, unless it's been welded then ground back and painted in which case you'll have difficulty spotting it, ask the seller, he/she may be honest, worth a shot.

Keep us posted nb67, best of luck, hope it's as good as it looks.

Well, the above E89 I was considering never materialised as the AT ad timed out when I came to wanting to view.

Back to now, I'm definitely on the hunt for a nice 35is if anyone is looking to sell in the near future. I'd consider a 35i dependant on spec/price etc but ideally, I'd love a 35is.

Now for the fussy part of me, apologies if I offend anyone here -

Preferred colour - Silver, Grey or Red (Black is a nightmare to keep nice all of the time and White is too flat for more Detailing addiction)

Interior - Not keen on a 'light' interior but may consider it dependant on the body colour.

I'm Retford based but willing to travel.

Budget? - Well, 35is money is not cheap but I don't have deep pockets but if anyone is looking to sell and the price suits us both then I'll pay £££'s for the right deal/car.

Shame the other one didn't materialise, looked peachy. Anyway onwards, one will pop up nb67, you'll find a cracker, best of luck.

Cheers Jon.

The more I look, the fussier I get which narrows an already tight search!!

Perfect colour, spec and miles!! I'll keep an eye on it to see if they reduce it over the coming weeks.

Marlon's beautiful red Si has got me really interested in a nice red 35is. Thx Marlon!! :headbang:

I think you have had a stairs fall not a windfall :P
Its nice but 2013 , add 15k or 2 yrs & it will soon be under £20k
I would set your target at £20k 4yrs old 40k then take it from there , the market isnt flooded with choice on 3.5s/3.5Is but then again it aint exactly flooded with buyers either
If there is a remote chance the car isn't a mid or longterm keeper id keep a cool head & monitor the market for at least 3 months otherwise you may be caught with trousers warming your ankles

 I see where you're coming from Mr Wilks. It will be a keeper and I'm going to restrict the budget to 25k also. Your views are a good source of info for me so keep them coming when I post up other candidates

They are like rocking horse poo to source a decent one with good miles/spec and a nice colour, no rush.

The search continues.

I've been looking for a newer 35is also, as I want to update mine. Looks like a long wait also for me as the right spec, mileage and colour combo aren't happening for me either.

You currenly have a 62 Brian .
What would be the price ratio between that , a newer used of 14/15 & ordering a brand new car then you can have yout desired spec ?
Genuinely have no idea what a new decent specced 3.5Is would currently cost :?

Before any discount, about £52k

Correct I do have a 62 plate Mr Wilks, been looking at a few pre registered 3.5is with a decent spec and 100 miles on clock for around the £38k mark. Not looked at prices for new, might be an option, but suspect I am probably looking at around 44k with discounts. Not many 14/15 registered 3.5is around with a decent spec similar to my current zed or with low miles. What are around a few 13 plate models with 30k plus miles and semi decent spec for around the £29k.

Problem is I probably won't get that much for mine as it is currently sitting at just shy of 98K miles  even with full BMW service history and insured warranty. High mileage I know but being retired I do take every opportunity to get out and drive it, plus I visit my son and gran children down in cornwall on a regular basis. Being currently 73 years young, this will probably be my last zed purchase which I hope to keep for at least 5 years before trading it in for a motorbility scooter

98k on a 62 3.5Is i can only pay homage Brian , no matter what you paid you have had the use & enjoyment out of it many times over i suspect :driving:
Tough decision ahead & only the actual value of yours can put that in perspective 8)
What would be your desired spec ?

Driven a couple of 35i this week. Very impressed with the performance and the noise. Seems easy to tweak the turbos for extra power if you want it.

Different car to the Z4M but love the DCT gearbox. Looked at a tidy 85k miler for £14k  A lot of car for silly money.

Think this pretty much sum's up the E89 market across the board if you do some legwork & avoid the pitfall's
The 3.5i / 3.5Is particularly offer performance, comfort & extras at a price & year very little else can match .
Just need to avoid ones with problem's as you may as well set fire to your savings

I can highly recommend a red 35is
Are you keen on a facelift model?

Sorry Glyn, I read that as you might be selling but see now how you were asking that question.

Just seen your post's ref your new car and loved it when you 1st got it in April.

I am aiming to sell my 35is this September-October as I have a Cayman 718 S on order. It currently has 17500 miles on the clock. Some time away I know sorry.

Cheers JC :D
