330 Brake Setup

What do you want to know?
Cheap, quick, easy to do and much improved performance. Also looks great through open style wheeels with decent rotors

About the same price as z4 bits they are common spares. You just need a pair of E46 330 calipers and carriers (also calipers are on X3 & X5)

It's not a brake setup chosen by BMW for the Zed, so I was wondering if anyone had any sort of problems with this setup? I don't mean the actual installation of it, but once they are on and being used....

Of course it is. If you look up the calipers off the E46 330 you will see they are the same as the post facelift 3.0Si and the rears remain the same on all 3.0's. You are therefore just upgrading to a later standard spec of caliper rotor combination.

Sorry, I meant full 330 setup... 325 front and 320 rears. I've already got the fronts, which will be going on soon and I have no issues with that.

I have also considered getting the rears too, but just want to get some feedback from people who have already done the upgrade and have been using that setup for a while.

No interest in doing the rears. To me that might upset the balance and the vast majority of the braking is at the front and iirc you need to replace the disk covers and that makes it a much bigger job.

I'm sure there are some posts on here.

Yep, though the cheap brake upgrade how-to suggests that it would be fine I still had my concerns. I think i'll just leave it then. Thanks!

so is it OK to just upgrade the front to the 3.0si spec brakes?? I have the 2.5 non ventilated rears
