330/335 xd

Yes I agree its economy and performance is very good, a friend of mine has a 435xd and he is over the moon with it and the economy/grip/performance is brilliant so I know your 335xd will hit the spot nicely. :driving:

Well (her) car has arrived home !
We drove down to collect it on July 2nd. Had a steady run home at about 70 ish and the Obc showed 55mpg
First impressions, I'm impressed and I'm sure it will be a very nippy car (for her)

I will post some pictures asap - the bits and bobs are broadly the same as the zed but there are plenty of things to set up, the music collection is one of the first.

I don't doubt that for a minute , that's why I'm keeping mine. The car won't attract as many looks either !

Interesting read.
Ronk what's your view on the car after owning it for a couple of days?
I'm having a look at a 330d x drive dog wagon this sat.
Any input would be grateful

It very early days as you say but in general it gets the thumbs up from me!
I drove it 220 miles home mainly A1 and it felt quite alive - we had an A4 3.0 tdi Quattro so it was always going to feel sharper. It's almost Z4 like in its feel.

Economy while bedding in is currently showing 50mpg - but I didn't buy it for economy !
The insurance was a bit higher - about 25% but it's new I suppose.

Overall - I like it and (her) car gets the thumbs up from me.

A pal has a 330xd and he took me out in that a few weeks ago and I thought that was a flyer. He used the launch control and have to admit to being absolutely stunned by it - although it's a diesel !
It has some serious grunt.

Certainly fast enough for an old fella!

Another 600 miles to go before I can give it a bit of welly.

There was a 335 touring demonstrator on offer but it was difficult to justify when we only needed a saloon.

I've got another 600 or more before I let it rip . We have a spring holiday in Germany planned for next spring so it should be nicely run in by then

Taking the zed in August tho !
The touring we looked at had all the toys including a panoramic roof.

The launch control is some toy to have

The car has now done 14k so I can give it some welly - I can say that I am greatly impressed.
What a hoot - it pulls like a train - it just keeps on pulling. The torque is unrelenting.
A pal took his 330 X d to germany and he says his was impressive all the way to the speed lmiter . So I think (her) car should be the same, if not better with 50 extra Bhp.
Planning a spring trip to Germany next year in the 335 - the z4 is for the summer trip tho!
All the grunt and on a 70mph run from home /Bedford/Suffolk/home - the obc showed 54mpg!
