I appreciate all your various thoughts & insights. I'm probably less clear on where i'm going here than when I asked the initial questions.
Options have grown from a simple buy non-RFT tyres or not to:
* Keep the current setup & wait & see (5 years and counting with no cracks....yet I'm aware of the risks)
* Get premium PS4S tyres in a configuration that MIGHT improve wheel resiliance (as well as other benefits)
* Get cheaper non-RFTs to avoid throwing money at what some see as a foregone conclusion.
* Buy new wheels & tyres (which ones? how much? new or 2nd hand? same sizes or....?)
...and if the latter keep the old wheels /tyres in case I want to sell the car OR try to sell (Where? how? what price target?)
A lot of unchartered waters here for me. Never before ventured into buying new wheels.....bearing in mind that the cost of new wheels & tyres (especially if the old ones prove worthless) could be expensive relative to the value of the car AND I don't know enough about it has even made me consider (briefly) the "nuclear option" of selling the car before it becomes a moneypit. Hopefully it won't come to that.
But I think before I proceed further I need to try to figure out a good 'bang for buck' new wheel option and get a better idea of what my 326Ms might realistically fetch.
