What are the 18" wheels as standard on the 2012 MSport? Are they affected, or is this only 19"s?

I am disappointed that to learn that you have experienced further problems with wheels on your vehicle.
I must say, I have not come across a case of this nature concerning the Z4 model. Initially I would ask that we wait to see what the outcome of HR Owens assessment is before taking any further steps.
The cracks themselves can only be caused by an external force, most commonly potholes, 'silent policeman' and poor road surface conditions. I am unfamiliar with the roads in your areas, however I would ask that closer consideration is given to the routes you regularly undertake, as this will be the cause.
I await to hear from you following the inspection of the wheels.

Pretty shite response.....although, an update, the wheel is being changed under warranty...
A result, but does make me feel unsure again, but then again I have hit some stonking pot holes since having these new wheels and they have faired better perhaps than the 296's.....so let's see.
And they are putting on the punctured tyre back on so I can get it repaired today.

At least its a fairly painless and positive outcome, BMW could have flat out refused as warranty doesn't apply to the wheels (its in their own fine print) meaning a fight, which no one wants to do of course.
Time to avoid potholes no matter the wheel model methinks. Besides if BMW had refused, you could then have gone after the council.

I would never have thought poor road conditions and rock solid run flats would damage cast alloy wheels, not in a million years 
But as suggested by BMW i'll be looking to take an alternative route to work to reduce the risk of my wheels cracking :| Maybe the bus.
On a separate note i'd just remove the guys name from the reply, these things have been known to go south. Not that anyone on the z4 forum would say anything potentially slanderous of course.

No idea which alloy number but both my father and brother has current shape 330 D M Sport Cabs on 19's, and between them in the last 18 months have had 7 new wheels (yes, seven!) due to cracking.......
They've both had enough as BMW refuse to accept there is an issue and at over £500 a throw it's getting expensive.
My father PX'd his today against a new E Class Cab and my brother is seriously considering doing the same tbh.....

Car back and looking fine. Last few weeks I swear someone has been trying to nick my wheels, on odd occasions have noticed wheels bolts missing. Once three from one wheel, and yesterday one bolt missing.
Got new centre caps for £50, as they look awful when they are all chipped and orrible!!

Tighten them with a torque wrench......
Then keep checking.....
Then CCTV to see the perp.....
Then buy a baseball bat + turn OFF CCTV....
Problem solved...

They look good....will do the same if mine crack again. But rest easy, I have hit mine very very hard on some shocking pot holes, so under normal day to day use they should be fine

I keep thinking if its worth adding an extra set of locking wheel nuts to beef up security. Or is it a case of if they can get passed one set, the same can be done with the others?

Run-flats have an incredibly stiff side wall that ruins the ride, steering, braking and grip capability of the car and transmits more shock to the wheel. We don't recommend them for any car. Conventional tyres with an emergency inflator kit are the way to go.
