326 alloys again

Sorry to drag this subject out again. I was playing with the new jack I bought myself for Christmas and thought I’d check the condition of my alloys.
Two fronts fine , one rear fine , one rear damage / looks like repaired.
When I bought the car MOT history said near side road wheel rear cracked this was back in 2015, 27000 miles ago.
I wrongly assumed wheel had been replaced.
Obviously I’ve read most of the 326 threads and seen the pictures of damage, but this strikes me as been in an odd location. See pictures nearly all the damage I’ve seen has been closer to the edge. Any thoughts ?

Looks like normal corrosion blistering, they made of rubbish alloy. My car when bought at three years old, inside they looked like that.
Mainly due to some extra strong grippers penetrating the paint work on the wheel.

Right , thanks , maybe I jumped the gun based on the MOT highlighting the same wheel. Thought it was a weld , but you most likely right and it’s corrosion. Blowing the paint.

I agree with that. It looks like minor corrosion and not a crack.
That said, I am on tenterhooks with my 326's on runflats, only a matter of time before a crack appears and I'm stranded. I'm replacing mine with 437's when a set with tyres come up at a reasonable price.

Just the alloy oxidising under the paint, wire brush it to remove all white powder and paint over it with an enamel paint.
