Hey. I am interested mapping my na 30i. History of this car isnt known, but car was bone stock when I bought it. Rev counter goes bit past to 7k, so could it be possible it has already mapped?

It’s possible but I doubt it. Remapping a 3.0i will take you from 258BHP to 278BHP so I doubt many people feel it is worth the cost.

I always thought it strange that 3.0i E89s were quoted as 258 bhp when 3.0Si E85/86s are quoted at 265 bhp. :?

I don't think the benefit would justify the cost for me, but I'm pretty sure Marlon had his E85 re-mapped so he may be able to give you some insight into how much difference it made.

Noise & emissions regs are constantly tightening, that may be the reason for the difference although i doubt very much anyone could tell the difference between 255 bhp & 262bhp! :?

Well I don't think it's later noise or emissions issues.

I've just bought a 55 plate E90 330i as a daily, and the E90 and E91 models with the 3 litre N52 are rated at 258PS, whereas the E92 & E93 models are rated at 265PS like the E85/86. :?

And as you say you would definitely struggle to tell the difference between 258PS and 265!

But after my E91 325i I can really tell the difference between 218PS and 258. More is just better!
