Hi, I am looking to possibly get a 30i or 35i Z4. I do quite a bit of miles.

Can any body give me an idea of real world mpg on both cars :?

I ahve had my 35i for about a month. On a trip to Cornwall I got 33mpg, but I was taking it fairly easy as my wife was in the car, but the boot was full! On local trips by myself I still get 29mph. Overall, I thiink it is dam good. Don't know about the 'little' 3!!

Mike, how do you like the DCT & the m suspension. I'm hoping to try one tomorrow with the DCT box, not sure if it will have the m suspension. Do you notice much with the different suspension settings? Must say your Z4 looks good in space grey!!!!! :D

Hi,
I've had mine about 6 weeks now, a 35i, DCT and m suspension. The DCT is brilliant, smooth in normal and really fast in sport. Maybe its just suits my driving but I havn't needed or seen any benefit from using the paddles. I did want the car with the addaptive suspension partly because TG said I should have it and partly because it makes sence - softer for long motorway drives firmer for my favourite blat around the back roads. Admittedly I didn't try one without it but it does work and you can feel an imedediate change when you press the sport and sport plus button.

Like m999psw I think the DCT is magnificent. I have played with the paddles a couple of times but do not really feel the need for them. As to the m suspension I find that the car is really solid around then turns but have not really played with the sport and sport plus modes emough to really tell the difference.

So far I have been averaging 23MPG but that is short runs and "playing". I'm sure it will settle down this weekend as longer runs planned.

So far though I can see why that twin turbo engine got engine of the year!! :driving:

Hi,
I have done just over a thousand miles mainly playing but some in normal drive ( :D ) and the average is 27mpg according to the car, my wifes 1.8 Astra has done averaged 30 over the last 12 months!!

Hi there, I have had an SDrive 30i since early September. Fab car and I am getting around 35mpg for normal driving. Adaptive M suspension is fab so go for it if its within budget.

After driving around on longer journeys at the weekend, mines up to 27MPG now. My previous 3.0si averaged around 28MPG.

If only mpg is in the equation, sDrive35i of course. Official mpg is only 3 lower than sDrive3.0i.

I have the 30i and really, really like it. On the Hwy I have averaged 29, in town in Northern Virginia (major traffic) 23-25, quite satisfied. The adaptive suspension really works. I also have the premium sound and nav package. If money is an issue I would go with the 30i and get the bells and whisles. The sport package wheels on the 30i look great. Best car I have ever owned.

While not related to mileage, I drove both the 30 and the 35 last week. The 35 is just noticeable quicker, but being about 200 lbs heavier, and all of the weight is forward of the front wheel, it did not feel near as good going through the twisty bits - which drove my decision to go with the 30

Generally if you need to ask the question you want the bigger one! I made the mistake with the TT and always regretted it... Got the 3.0 Z4 and am so glad I did. Yes I do hanker after the M, but I wasn't even close to affording it at the time, so I am happy with my purchase.

Off topic slightly

but they do sound different! And they both sound good!
