I found myself with a completely free Saturday this weekend. On seeing the weather forecast on Friday evening, I thought i'd get an early start and head off to North Wales for the day.
5.30am start. Check tyre pressures, fill tank, buy Twix.
(all the boxes ticked)
7 hours later I got home. A happy, but very tired man. 300 miles of fantastic road, totally deserted for the first 3 hours.
I managed to cover: Llangollen, Betwsy-coed, Snowdonia, Beddgelert, Portmadog, Portmeirion, Harlech, Barmouth, Welshpool.
It reminds you that we do have great places, great scenery and roads in this country. You just need to pick the time the time when the masses are tucked up in bed. North Wales in the sun is very much like New Zealand.
Pic of Snowdon, oh and the vehicle!

Beddgelert was one of our stopover places , simple but stunning & the road out leading up to Snowdon early morning with no one around was one of my Wales weekend highlights
