Yes it's true, coming September I will most likely have ZERO contact with my beloved

I am very saddened by this as from what I understand I won't even be able to take her out while I'm on leave.
Do ya'll know of anything that will help me recover from this separation anxiety. It's almost too much to bear.

On the flip side, I will be stationed at Kadena Airbase, Japan. They won't allow us to bring our vehicles over (small island). Oh well maybe I can get some fast japanese car....

Go see ZeeFore when you get some time off - he's in Sendai :D

Feel for you though

Thats a long time with no z4/without your car...feel for you,Matt.
I take it the z4 will be getting put into storage,or will u be selling it?

Hope u can make time for the Lakes/Dales meet before u go,be good to see u again, mate  :driving:

Good luck with the posting :)

It will go into storage. I'm talking with one of my petrol buddies about substitutes while in Japan. I have a few leads. Although being on a small island I may just get a cheap a to b car and nothing fancy. Of course he said almost all the cars over there are turbo'd.

While you are there. Be fore warned that the roads have as one of the ingredients ground up coral sand. I have heard it gets extremely slippery when wet. Probably something to ask your sponsor. I enjoyed Japan. Although I was at Yokota AB near Tokyo. Spent 5 years there with the 4th combat comm group. My best mate here in Germany. Was stationed at Kadena. He worked on the Blackbird. Scuba diving was his thing. I imagine that would be one way to pass the time. I suppose it's also easy to catch the rotator "freedom bird" to Yokota for a long weekend as well. Tokyo is an absolute blast. The Japanese are great folk and are fun to party with. They come across as shy. But when they get to know you. They really let loose and always have a good time.

3 years in storage is a very long time, brakes will be fcuked

The Forum members could always take turns for an Italien Tune Up to keep her warm & make sure this doesn't happen :poke:

More seriously, I'd be gutted if it had to be 3 years and thinking it out believe I'd rather sell my Zed to let someone else have the enjoyment rather than leave her in an OAP home - just me.

You have my sympathy - I haven't seen mine since 4th February and might not drive it again until 2014
I came to Australia expecting to be able to buy a Japanese supercar as they were cheap when i was last here ten years ago. Unfortunately, all cars are horribly expensive here now. Even a twenty year old twin turbo Supra in poor condition with no registration is at least £8,000, twice the price of a reasonable one in the UK. I hope cars in Japan are better value!

I agree with ya'll about selling the Z. But truth be told if I sold it I'm pretty sure I would never convince the wife to buy another one. I am thinking about just throwing caution to the wind and letting my Dad maintain it....but then I'd still have to pay insurance on it, trust him to do routing maintenance, worry about it getting wrecked, etc.

Maybe do like I did. When it came time for the wife and I to buy our first house. I sold my motorcycles to get rid of the payments. She had said if I would do that. Then once we got the house in order, furnished, And so on. I could buy another motorcycle. 4 years later. I pulled said agreement from the file cabinet. She said a deals a deal. I bought another bike.

Aebous,if you lived nearer to me,i would happily keep it and run it now and again/do some oil changes, etc for u...unfortunately u are MILES away from me,mate.
Hope someone can help u out,or ur Dad comes good with a storage/maintenance plan for ur z

Craig, I'd er expect things   if you kept it....
