Thanks this gives me some comfort; it almost sounds like it’s coming from the diff behind me... doesn’t sound “broken” or anything just wanted to check whether others had heard it. Thanks again.

I was going to say the same as Polarbert Micheal, M’s are pretty clunky, especially when cold, compared to more modern cars but it’s normal, unless there is excessive play in the driveshaft. They can clunk a little causing concern but again it’s normal for these, I think you’d really notice it if there was a problem with the diff, for example on every gear change, if it’s not doing that then it sounds perfectly normal.

Happy M’ing.... :driving:

Edit: Said ‘normal’ far too many times in that post......damnit.....did it again....

I used to think there was something wrong with mine until I heard a few different videos of them starting up and mostly all having that similar sound.

That's a long list, so you'll have to keep it now!

And I'm sure most of us on here do appreciate updates - now you can just concentrate on driving it. :driving:

Also forgot to mention headlight refurb, and having front plate mount removed and using a sticky plate.

I approve!

Also it didn't take long for you to change your mind about keeping her stock. I've been in an ///M with an induction kit and it sounded superb.

True, but if you ever decide to sell I'm sure most people on here would be happy to buy with those mods!

Final update because she’s finished plus pictures...

- Now had major paint correction detail plus machine polish and 2 stage ceramic coating... unbelievable difference.
- Oh and an Eisenmann Race Exhaust!!!
- New Xenon OSRAM XENARC NIGHT BREAKER bulbs
Soon to upgrade Angel Eye bulbs to 20w
- new windscreen seals all round
- new windscreen plastic trim
- x2 new brake ducts in front bumper (can’t remember if I’d done these last time!)
- front number plate delete and static plate
- all black grills

She’s pretty much finished how I want her :) Then again, maybe look at wheels and lowering next year... who knows!
