Ahhh Sunshine makes all cars look better...
First two were outside the house just after...don't worry roof came down as soon as we went out to let the world know it's spring before having to spend the best weather inside... :driving: ..

Process, please drop in any hints/tips/stages you think I could add
Gentle spray or machine cleaner on body work and alloy cleaner on rims, left for couple of mins then rinsed off
Washed with Autoglym shampoo (double bucket of course. not sponged) then rinsed and washed again.
Taken for spin and then dried with meguiars mirofibre towel.
Applied Mer polish, covered whole car to give it time to settle a little then poilished off.
Cleaned window glass inside and out cleaned the inside, didn't need a vacuum so just a wipe down.
Then got onto polishing.. I've never used Mer Deep Gloss Finishing Wax before but thought I'd give it a try.
I didn't leave it on as long as the polish as the sun was getting stronger so worked in quarters.
The bonnet was a bit troublesome, I think maybe I used a little too much was as it wouldn't come off as easy as I thought and the good old polishing cloth glide across test was not as smooth as other sections. Any clues?

I think this is probably my favourite angle.

I'd been to a wedding and was just walking into the reception when I thought this was far too nice an opportunity to miss.

I properly love my car.

Yeah, I'd like to. This car is a daily driver though so need to time away from work where I can get it done. The alloys need a refurb too so I might wait until later in the year when I get some winter wheels and tyres.

did you clay the car before you put the wax on?, to get the best "glide" it might be worth trying that next time, but looking very nice, there's a lot of satisfaction getting it looking that nice after a lot of hard work.

No, no clay this time. I'd heard that using a machine cleaning fluid/degreaser would almost do the same thing but I couldn't see how it would. Still, always good to try or we wouldn't learn...

Think I'll pick up a new clay bar kit and give it a try next month. I've used the meguiars one before and will go for that again unless anyone thinks there is a better one?

Thanks for the  btw. There's something to polishing and waxing that I find relaxing when it goes well. Kinda like a car nut's meditation.

Agree - clay bar is a must before waxing to get the silky smooth feel. I did my wife's 1 series on Sunday - took me about 3 bloomin' hours!!

Worth it though in the end - it looked great.
