3 Warning lights - tyre pressure/DSC/brakes

I've only just bought my 07 3.0si coupe. I love it but it does have an issue.

The lights don't flag as soon as the engine starts, only a mile or so down the road. It's the tyre pressure/DSC/brake warning lights, and they all light up simultaneously. I've tried holding down the DSC button to turn the traction control back on - but this hasn't helped. The lights go off if I switch the engine off and back on, but then light up again further down the road. I've checked tyre pressure and they're all fine.

Only things I can think of are:

- I got the dealer to fit new rear brake pads and disks before I bought the car
- The car drives straight, but the steering wheel is slightly offset to the left

I've seen similar threads with different combinations of lights but everyone seems to have to replaced different parts.

Any suggestions?

If the steering is offset, it could well be the ABS sensor getting a false reading.

Much cheaper than a new ABS pump at about £2k though.

To the op. You could either have an ABS sensor gone (cheap and easy to replace yourself) or it could be the steering angle sensor. Might just need re-calibrating. If you can get it plugged in however that will help you find the issue.

Ah yes, could not remember that name - steering angle sensor. Seems reasonable considering the steering issue you described.

Before you have a nervous breakdown you need to get it diagnosed - get the dealer to sort it - alternatively take it to an Indy ( charge a lot less than BMW - usually around £40 ) this will identify the problem - 9 times out of ten it's one of the sensors located in front of the brake servo - a common fault - happened with mine - lights came on intermittently until finally stayed on - after diagnosis it was the sensor nearest the servo - had it replaced - everything fine since - total cost including fitting and resetting computer £140.

Apart from all this welcome :D

Thanks people - I'll get it diagnosed and update.

EDIT - its my steering angle sensor, pretty sure its because my steering is pulling one way. Full laser calibration tomorrow.

Hi
Did you ever get this fixed?
I have the same 3 lights suddenly appear and the car seems to pull to the left?
Had a look with my Icarsoft scanner and the only fault is a 5E40 - steering angle sensor - not sure where to go from here - trying to avoid the dealership.
thanks

Get yourself a cable and a copy of INPA and you can reset it in there with 2 clicks of your mouse!

This did in fact turn out to be the steering angle sensor itself packing up.
Not a cheap spare at £250 but it did fix the problem.

Rather than have the hassle of removing the column myself I was quoted £80 to replace the SAS which I thought was very good value.
Carried out by Forza it was done in a morning!

I summarised my fault codes and repair here:
