3 vs 3.5

Ok I have my eye on a manual 3 litre with a lovely interior (White Design package) and adaptive M Suspension.

Apart from the power etc - is the 3 Litre 35 the one to hold out for ?

I am coming from an Elise and looking to get one for a weekend Toy...

I have gone through all the posts/reviews etc. Seems like BMW made people drive the 3.5 at Launch !

If you can afford a 35i, then why not. Not sure how many manuals there are in the 35i....but it would make sense to go for one if finances allow. Not dissing the 3.0.....not driven it...
 
go drive one and make up your own mind.

I tested a 3.0 and had every intention of buying it (i had a 3.0 E85 and it was ok for 8 years). then i stumbled across a 3.5i and was given a chance to drive it. Strangely i was just after the electric memory seats (my wife and i are so different in height!) and what a difference!

The car is just so different in performance, great gearbox (DCT) and the noise it makes closed the deal.

YOU have to drive one and see the difference.

I've had memory seat for such a log time now, i don't think i would contemplate a car without them. Except for the daughters IQ

Only kidding, you continue on your seat love theme :thumbsup:

I agree though - if you have the budget go for the 35i even if it is a turbo engine. There's a big jump in performance (even more so with the DCT).

Sounds like its worth testing back to back then. I did like the comments about the electric seats, I am sure I will be the same but probably not a pub conversation with non E89 owners lol.

Just seen a 12 plate in Black outside my office, I am addicted to the shape!

Got two lined up for Saturday - and cannot wait, 6 months without a car is hardwork.

I had electric memory seats in my 2004 3.0se e85 :poke:
