3 Series revision.....

why did they need to facelift it anyway ?. the image in the link doesnt look that clever as the front bumper looks too high ?. this combined with the 5GT, the X1 which i saw the other day, are bmw loosing the plot slightly ?
 
The size of the side mirrors has grown considerably! :o I have to say that's one of my main gripes about the new Z4. When you are approaching a roundabout you often have to look 'around' the drivers door mirror to check that there is nothing on the roundabout.
 
Will be interesting to see what appears post Bangle. Got to agree though, the X1 and 5GT are not good starts! That said, for the development timescales of those cars he will have had a hand in both. That white hybrid thing that's been banded about in the press in recent months looks fantastic though. Shame production cars never look like the cool concepts they come up with!

Freshens up the range, makes people feel like they have 'the old one' and gives more reason to upgrade to a newer one, etc. Plus they saved the LED tail lights for the facelift, a sneaky marketing ploy - E46 3 finished it's life with LEDs, replaced with a car using stock bulbs...obvious what they had planned really!

No doubt some retarded Euro legislation...

I am unsure what might be so high up behind you to need such 'tall' wing mirrors but hey ho.

They look terrible, and surely can't help efficiency either?!

Reference the Z4 mirrors, I wonder if they will be any smaller on the IS sports kit?
 
I think the heating controls on the inside look a bit different as well. There is now a button marked 'ALL' :?
 
When the first Z4 came out, orange blinkers whilst the outgoing Z3 was all clear. They seem to do that deliberately, going back in spec.

Some bits are nicer, others are not.

The different colours doesn't help really, but hey ho :)

Either way, those wing mirrors just look like Audi clone ones, which are also stupid.

They look like Ford Transit van mirrors :rofl:


I'd love to know why BMW have made them look so hideous. What possible advantage they have is beyond me... except to look s**t if you like things that look s**t :poke:
