Surely to Christ a merc specialist will be using the right fluid!
Just spoken to him......he was very apologetic and said it is his fault that he didn't check the valves in the first place.
He said there are 6 and 2 have gone - he's going to charge me for the valves (which are quite cheap but he's not sure on price.........I'm assuming that probably translates to 'you only need to sell a bollock instead of a kidney) and he's not charging any labour.

Half the problem really isn't it........how do you get angry with someone who's being nice and apologetic.
Hunter came and picked up the hardtop last night.......he gave some alternative advice 'burn the garage down'. :evil:
I would add that Hunter is about 18 stone of pure muscle and Scottish (which instantly gives a more menacing appeal)......and not Andy Murray Scottish.....proper Scottish.

Bizarre.......just had a call from the garage.
Bloke has now said he's had a think about what I said and come to the conclusion that he can't charge me any more to fix the car.
He's got onto the company that told him the rad would be ok to temporarily fit and said they need to foot the bill.......apparently its being looked into by a gearbox specialist.
Sounds like the valves mustn't have fixed it then!
