3 point strut brace - Worth having?

I don't really care about the difference between various chassis, on every car I've added one to it has had a positive effect and that includes the Z4. It's got a whopping long front end so joining the dots it's hardly surprising it improves things further. Given that BMW sell a brace they also clearly think it's not a waste of time.

Well for me the improvement wasnt incredible. At least not as incredible as all the other suspension/drivetrain mods I've done.
I dont think I could spot the difference if someone would remove it without me knowing. Within that scope its the mod that made the least difference (and I made quite a few mods to my car). Well maybe installing a stubby antenna .
All other mods were more like night and day.
So for improving handling on the z4 this certainly wont be the first thing I would advise. That would more be in the line of arb's or suspension bush refresh or coilovers or such things. Each of those will give an immediate "WOW" once you get into the car when its done.


Then again there also wasnt a negative aspect to it. Its cheap and very very easy to install (compared to the other work I did). And it looks cool if you open the bonnet. My engine is all about a stock appearance, but I dont mind if this thing attracts some attention away from the engine (especially if the police want to take a look, the 66% raise in power over stock is not permitted where I live without getting a new registration...)

I dont think BMW will ever think that selling something is a waste of time....

I agree that the other mods do more. I started with the brace as it was easy and cheap, then I did ARBs before giving in to new suspension. Mixed in were some bush upgrades, I didn't notice the RTABs so much but the offset lollipops I did.
