I know most of you either know about or have done these mods, but thought I would post to give any newbies some ideas.

First One, shortened my knob £20 from ebay (used)

Now, this feels even more comfortable, as my arm can rest on the armrest and it's just the right height for the gearknob.

Dont see how you could have one of these short knobs with a Mark IV Armrest  :poke:

Second One

Blackout Grills

Gives a more aggressive look, and suits black cars IMO

Removed Grills and seperated from fins, sanded and applied Acrylic Matt Black From Screwfix. Wait to see how long it lasts, but the paint is meant to be tough.

I had tried using blackout tape but after two attempts gave up. It's to much grief trying to get the tape round the corners, tried applying heat and so on...

Cost Just over £5.00

Third One

My Twins bought me Twin Tailpipes for my birthday

Why BMW let a car like this out of the factory without these I dont know, my only surprise when opening the box was that they are not chrome.

Like me :D

They look good. I've read comments saying the shorter stick helps gear shifting from 1st to 2nd by making it more natural and reducing the likeliness of jerking. Do you agree?

P.S. Post a zoomed out view of the car with the new tail pipes - they look good.

Did my grills just the same about three days before the nurburgring trip last week, they need doing again as the chrome outer has stonechipped real bad... :(

Scrolled down, and still missed "that" mod

How is the CDV business going? Might go down that route again

"That" mod is still on my list, dont forget to bring your penknife.

Dont think the others would mind witing round for 5 hours while you do it.
