3 more weeks at least.

At least being a key worker I can go to work, not without risk though, but it helps.

On another note is this weather going to continue as it is adding to the torment at the moment.

When the lockdown is lifted will it rain for 6 weeks?

....... and do we think the fine weather is related to the drop in air and road traffic. :exitright:

The reduced air pollution can only be a good thing but maybe temporary

Reduced aeroplanes flying
Reduced demand on the national grid for electric therefore less load on power stations
Reduced vehicles on the road
Warmer weather reducing home heating demand gas and electric

Talking about pollution... funny how wee greta the gremlin hasnt said fk all recently, this is basically what she was calling for :fuelfire:

Rain guarenteed for the lifting of the lockdown

Another 3 weeks (at least) of me feeling absolutely worthless in this world  it's the strangest feeling ever. My job is completely pointless currently. A shelf stacker has more credibility than I do

I used to be a shelf stacker/trolley wally/till operator, so I know it's a job which results in people looking down on you, for whatever absurd reason.

The weather makes it bearable. I couldn't imagine not being able to go and do garden stuff whilst stuck at home.

I’m still sticking to my end of June prediction...mainly as it lines up nicely with the end of my current project and I want to get some decent driving in before going back to another long-term project.

Luckily the current job hasn’t changed, just the location (home instead of London), and everyone in our Procurement dept are doing a very good job of making sure our customers can get their medication by having daily calls with our raw material suppliers & logistics partners so that we can manufacture, package & distribute them.

I can't help but laugh at all my extended family, ringing each other in utter shock that there's another 3 weeks!
Wake up FFS! It was always going to be at least that, and my money is on another extension after that, if not more.

Do you remember when all planes were grounded, due to the Icelandic Volcanic Eruption?
- We had great weather then too.

I told the thick pillocks on day one!
Now they are all up in arms telling me I shouldn't be so righteous.
Well, effin' listen then!!!

I’m with you, at least another one after this but I’m going with two.

What I’m not sure of if us in the high risk group will also be getting a further extension too - as it stands just now I’ll be nearly 15 weeks of some type of isolation.

I remember it well! It was almost exactly 10 years ago. I was coming home from a business trip to Melbourne, and got stranded for almost a week in Singapore on expenses. :D Although unfortunately my employer had an office there too, so I did have to go to work.

Anyway back on the current topic I expected another 3 weeks, and expect at least 3 more after that.

I'd much rather they erred on the side of caution.

I need at least two more days after the extension to get my free 6 months mot extension :D

I hadn't thought of that but my MOT isn't due until 24 May, so maybe another 3 weeks wouldn't be a total disaster!

Weather is breaking here tomorrow. :(

Three more weeks makes good sense to me. We still have to pay the bill at some point though.

Yea like stopping the 15000 arrivals per day into Heathrow with zero tested  or halting London tube travel

We did get handed a very informative leaflet at Heathrow though! (From someone with no gloves or mask). I assume that leaflet cleverly provides my wife and I, and the country at large, all the protection in the world!

After 4 weeks in lockdown, we find out tomorrow if we are coming out of our 'level 4' status (general lockdown except essential services, borders closed to all but returning Kiwis), to a level 3 where we can get out more (but no pubs, cafes, restaurants etc). I'll still have to work from home, but will no longer be restricted to essential/critical jobs only so I'm guessing it will get busier.
Personally, I'd be ok with extending the lockdown a bit longer, after seeing what's happened in Japan and Singapore after they lifted restrictions and are now experiencing a 2nd wave of infections :( . I'm guessing this might be the same reason you are having your restrictions extended?
