3.5is tapping noise on idle

Does any one else experience the above on occassion. It isn't always there, not noticed on start up.
Only covered 2500 miles since new.
Too back to bmw dealer advised the noise , tap, is the fuel injectors........
 
Just noticed the same thing on mine. Have only heard it after being out and not on start. Only notice it when the car is idling and it is not permanent - that is you can hear the tapping for say 10-15 secs then it stops for 20 secs then starts again.................... I will keep an ear open for it over the next few days.
 
Would this only be specific to the 35i(s) or could it be what I've noticed in the last few days...? :?

Should the noise go away if you slightly rev it, i.e take it up to 1k rpm?
 
I am so scared now; I sold my old vehicle /seat leon FR dsg 2008; due to its endless noise and leak problems.

I hope I wil not have this tapping noises in my car :(
 
Have you guys heard the M engine? There's alot of tapping noise on the s54 at low revs but it's simply a feature of the engine. It could be the same thing here with the 35is...
 
It's a 6 cylinder 3 litre engine with loads of moving parts! Surprised it's as quiet as it is!! :P Listen to an M engine!! :o

My 35i does it it a bit and so did my last Z4 3.0si engine. :wink:

Don't worry! The car and the engine is awesome! 18,700 miles now and mine just gets better!! 8)

But..... Have to add, the car is awesome, no regrets, I was just concerned something was wrong, if others ave, then presume it normal.

Btw. Anyone else noticed the acceleration from any mph is the bollix! Slip to sport, foot down at 70mph.................
