Hi all,
I’ve got a 2007 Z4 E85, 2.5si with Xenon headlights that I’ve always loved tinkering with. I’ve been having an electrical issue for some time now (8 months) that I haven’t been able to get to the bottom of with the headlight assemblies. When the car is off, in one headlight assembly, 2 of the indicator bulbs are always illuminated. In the other headlight assembly, one indicator bulb is illuminated and the other is not.
When day time runners are selected, the indicators do the same but the angel eyes turn on just fine.
When the low beams were selected, both headlights would also work but the 3/4 indicators still stuck on. About 3 months ago, one of the low beam bulbs stopped working, I changed the bulb to a new one but it still did not work. Having a feeling this might have been related?
What I’ve checked:
- Checked inside each headlight assembly for any obvious issues and did continuity checks.
- Checked and changed all bulbs around, doesn’t seem bulb related
- Unplugged one headlight at a time, made no difference between them
Only other info that might be related to it was that it was messing with a constant reverse light in the rear too from what I remember. Any advice with how to fault find or what to check/change next would be very appreciated! I was thinking possibly I got unlucky and it’s two bad Xenon ballast modules or otherwise the Light Control Module? Just been shying away from the LCM due to it being coded and rare.
Thanks in advance guys!
